The Wallaceburg Royal Canadian Legion Branch 18 is kicked off its second annual toy and food drive this week.
This is the second year for the drive. The Legion's Rob Simpson said last year's drive was a success despite the fact that is had a short duration. Last year the drive only lasted six days. This year's drive will last six weeks.
"In six days we got a van full of toys and a van full of food," Simpson said.
This year the toy drive begins on Oct. 29, and Simpson said he is hoping to get six vanloads of toys and six vanloads of food.
The drive will help the Salvation Army with their annual Christmas hamper campaign.
Simpson said Legion groups, such as darts and card leagues, have pledged to help out.
